2 lbs fresh rhubarb in 1" chunks
3 to 4 cups strawberries
1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups rolled oats
1 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
pinch each of allspice and nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
preheat to 375 F
lightly butter bottom and side of square pan.
combine rhubarb and berries in 9 inch square pan
sprinkle with white sugar
mix remaining ingredients in bowl. sprinkle distribute over berry/barb mixture
pat into place with hands over waxed paper
remove waxed paper (:-P)
bake uncovered about 35 to 40 min. until bubbles around edges and top lightly brown.
serve hot, warm, or room temp. or with vanilla ice cream or fresh sweetened whipped cream.
