the song Oklahoma

for quite some time, i have amused myself on occasion in silly ways. one way (drug free) (in case anyone was thinking i was a hop head or something)...

one of the things that amused me was thinking that one shooed SING with all the emotion possible just the one word "Oklahomans", as it is sung in the musical.

my reasoning is because the other lyrics are worse than any i could possibly dream up on some high octane crud they gave me in neuro intensive care. case in point is the following which are the lyrics i copied from somewhere else on the internee. besides, they use the non word termayters and pertaters... need i say more? termayters must be a cross between a termite and a proper latin mom. pertaters i have no clue.

Song: Oklahoma Lyrics</font></b>
</h1>Brand new state!
Brand new state, gonna treat you great!
Gonna give you barley, carrots and pertaters,
Pasture fer the cattle,
Spinach and termayters!
Flowers on the prairie where the June bugs zoom,
Plen'y of air and plen'y of room,
Plen'y of room to swing a rope!
Plen'y of heart and plen'y of hope.
Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.
Oklahoma,
Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk
Makin' lazy circles in the sky.
We know we belong to the land
And the land we belong to is grand!
And when we say
Yeeow! Ayipioeeay!
We're only sayin'
You're doin' fine,
Oklahoma!
Oklahoma O.K.
Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.
Oklahoma,
Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk
Makin' lazy circles in the sky.
We know we belong to the land
And the land we belong to is grand!
And when we say
Yeeow! Ayipioeeay!
We're only sayin'
You're doin' fine,
Oklahoma!
Oklahoma O.K.

oklahoma is a fabulously beautiful state, with natural beauty... in the east, with rolling hill areas, lakes and a a campers haven. if you like that kind of stuff. the west with flat prairie land, has it's own beauty.

the entire state has an extremely rich history. rogers and hammerstein did them a horrible disservice.

i don't care how fabulous the musical is supposed to be. that is my opinion and i'm sticking to it.
